BRI Peduli Distributes Emergency Aid for Flores Earthquake in Maumere
As a demonstration of concern for communities affected by the earthquake in Flores, BRI, through its Maumere Branch Office, has distributed emergency aid to people at evacuation sites and health facilities in the Maumere area of East Nusa Tenggara.
The assistance consisted of 200 meal boxes provided to affected residents at the Lingkar Luar Evacuation Camp and TC Hillers Maumere Regional Hospital on Saturday, 15 August 2026.
Head of BRI Maumere Branch Office, Risky Darmawan, said the distribution of aid was part of BRI’s commitment through the BRI Peduli programme to be present and provide support to the community, particularly during emergency response conditions.
“BRI shares the concern over the situation of communities affected by the earthquake in Flores. Through BRI Peduli, we are working to provide assistance that can meet the needs of the community, especially during the emergency response period. We have distributed this aid to several locations in need, including evacuation camps and hospitals,” said Risky Darmawan, Head of BRI Maumere Branch Office.
In addition to distributing humanitarian aid, BRI continues to pay close attention to the continuity of banking services for the public.
Operations and services of BRI in the Maumere area remain a priority, ensuring that the transaction and banking service needs of the community can continue to be served while taking into account conditions and safety aspects on the ground.
“Amid the emergency response situation, we are also continuously monitoring operational conditions and the banking service needs of the community. BRI is committed to continuing to provide services to customers while prioritising the safety of employees, customers, and the public,” Risky explained.
Risky added that BRI will continue to monitor conditions and community needs on the ground. Aid distribution will be carried out on an ongoing basis, adjusted to the needs and situation in the affected areas.
“We will continue to coordinate and assess needs on the ground. If there are still community needs that require support, BRI will continue to distribute aid in accordance with those conditions and needs,” Risky added.
Through the BRI Peduli programme, BRI is committed to remaining present in the community, including in disaster and emergency situations.
This presence is expected to help alleviate the needs of affected communities while serving as a tangible demonstration of BRI’s concern for the community and the environment surrounding its operational areas.
