In Karangploso, Malang Regency, East Java, the dairy farming business serves as a source of livelihood for many residents, including the Sumber Karanglo Livestock Group. Established in October 2020, the group acts as a forum for farmers to develop their dairy cattle enterprises. The group currently manages a herd of over 58 dairy cows, with fresh milk as their primary commodity, and regularly works to improve livestock quality to add value to their production.

Despite its growth, the group has faced significant challenges. Production processes remained manual, limiting capacity and efficiency. Market reach was also restricted, preventing optimal sales opportunities. Additionally, the farmers were still in the process of fulfilling business and product legality requirements, while limited capital posed a barrier to expanding both production and marketing.

To address these issues, the Sumber Karanglo Livestock Group joined the Flagship Cluster Programme (Klaster Unggulan) run by BRI Peduli. Through this programme, the farmers receive comprehensive support, including training in processing milk into value-added products such as pasteurised milk, yoghurt, and cheese. The initiative also provides facilities and infrastructure to make production more efficient and hygienic, enabling an increase in output volume and opening up new income opportunities for the group members.
