PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) has held the Kick-Off for BRIncubator 2026, marking the start of this year’s incubation programme for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) fostered by Rumah BUMN BRI. Since its launch in 2018, BRIncubator has been part of BRI’s continuous efforts to strengthen SME empowerment through structured development, aiming to make business operators more prepared to enhance their competitiveness and expand market opportunities to a global level. Through BRIncubator, BRI provides a coaching ecosystem for curated SMEs under Rumah BUMN BRI. The programme is designed to assist business operators according to their business development stages, ensuring each participant receives relevant guidance before entering the acceleration phase. BRI’s Director of Micro Business, Akhmad Purwakajaya, explained that BRIncubator is part of BRI’s strategy to strengthen the capacity and competitiveness of SMEs so they can grow and seize opportunities in an increasingly competitive market. ‘To address the various challenges faced by SMEs, efforts to strengthen capacity and capability through sustainable coaching are needed. This strengthening includes developing an entrepreneurial mindset, business strategy, financial literacy, business digitalisation, and knowledge of export opportunities,’ he said in a written statement on Wednesday (5/8/2026). He stated that SMEs are expected to improve their competitiveness, expand market access, move up in class, and make a greater contribution to Indonesia’s sustainable economic growth. The BRIncubator programme is designed for SMEs fostered by Rumah BUMN BRI, focusing on increasing business capacity through a curation process, intensive mentoring, and business development. The programme concentrates on three main categories: Food & Beverage, Fashion & Beauty, and Home Decor & Craft, with the goal of encouraging SMEs to scale up and prepare their businesses for the export market. ‘We congratulate all participants of the 2026 BRIncubator Programme. We sincerely hope that this entire series of training and mentoring will serve as a foundation for enhancing business capacity, strengthening competitiveness, and opening wider market opportunities, both nationally and globally,’ Akhmad said. He also expressed appreciation and gratitude to all partners, speakers, mentors, and the Rumah BUMN team who continue to play an active role in SME empowerment across various regions.
