PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia (BRI Insurance) is strengthening insurance financial literacy and inclusion for Community Learning Activity Centres (PKBM) through a programme of training in financial governance, financial independence, and sustainability.

“Risk can occur at any time and anywhere, which may have an impact on us or the assets we own. Therefore, BRI Insurance is committed to continuously promoting insurance financial literacy and inclusion for the future of the community,” said BRI Insurance President Director Budi Legowo in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi further assessed that strengthening the capacity of PKBM is expected to provide an understanding of the role of insurance in managing finances while developing the potential of business units in a more structured and sustainable manner.

One form of training provided by BRI Insurance is the Financial Management System and Digitalisation of Educational Business Units in Banten Province.

The training highlighted the importance of financial governance as one of the foundations for building the independence and sustainability of community education institutions.

Budi said that good financial management is not only related to administrative order and record-keeping, but also plays a role in supporting planning, decision-making, and optimising the resources owned by the institution.

In line with the evolving needs of organisational management in the digital era, the training also introduced the use of a Financial Management System (FMS) and the digitalisation of educational business units.

The implementation of the system is expected to help PKBM build a more systematic, efficient, and easily monitored financial management process, while supporting the development of business units as a potential source of institutional income.

The digitalisation of educational business units also provides opportunities for PKBM to optimise their potential in accordance with the needs of the community in their environment.

“With well-directed management, business units can be developed not only as supporting activities, but also as part of efforts to strengthen financial independence and operational sustainability of the institution,” said Budi.

“The presence of BRI Insurance is part of the company’s involvement in supporting the strengthening of community capacity through education, development of management capabilities, and the use of technology,” he added.

In addition, this activity also involved a number of entities within the BRI Group ecosystem, namely BRI, BRI Insurance, and other BRI Group subsidiaries.

“This synergy is part of a collaboration to support the improvement of community capacity and independence through strengthening governance and utilising solutions relevant to the needs of the institution,” he said.
