PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia (BRI Insurance) and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) have implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme through a mangrove seedling planting event themed ‘Green Impact’ in the coastal area of Untia Village, Makassar.

The initiative represents a tangible collaboration to support environmental conservation and strengthen coastal ecosystems, which play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, reducing coastal erosion, and aiding carbon absorption.

Attendees included Asniar Asnawi, Branch Manager of BRI Insurance’s Makassar Branch; Sugiarto, Deputy Branch Manager of PNM’s Makassar Branch; and Helmy Budiman, Head of Makassar City Environment Office.

Also present were Djamrud Damayanti, a local community leader from Untia Village; Fadli PADI, founder of the Butta Porea Indonesia Foundation; and representatives from various local community groups.

The event commenced with opening remarks, followed by the signing of a handover report for the 7,000 mangrove seedlings to the Untia Village Government, a symbolic handover of the seedlings, and the presentation of mangrove planting awards by Mr. Fadli PADI to PNM and BRI Insurance.

Asniar Asnawi, Branch Manager of BRI Insurance’s Makassar Branch, stated that the activity is part of the company’s commitment to delivering sustainable environmental and community benefits through its CSR programme.

“Through this mangrove planting programme, BRI Insurance aims to make a tangible contribution to preserving coastal environmental sustainability while supporting the livelihoods of Makassar and surrounding communities. We believe that strong collaboration between companies, government, and society is vital in creating a greener and more sustainable future,” Asniar said in a statement on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

Meanwhile, BRI Insurance CEO Budi Legowo stated that sustainability for the company is not just about business growth, but also maintaining a balance between growth and a healthy, sustainable environment.

BRI Insurance believes that future company success must align with environmental care and tangible community benefits.
