BRI Insurance: Insurance provides protection during disasters
As we are aware, disasters can occur at any time and anywhere; therefore, having insurance is one of the most important ways to protect ourselves.
Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia (BRI Insurance) considers disaster protection insurance to be a vital financial product for transferring the risk of financial losses caused by natural disasters, ranging from earthquakes to floods.
“As we know, misfortunes can strike at any time and in any place, so having insurance is one of the most important things for protecting ourselves,” said the President Director of BRI Insurance, Budi Legowo, in a statement received in Nagekeo, East Nusa Tenggara, on Thursday.
Budi stated that when natural disasters occur, recovery efforts are not only undertaken by the affected victims but also require assistance from various elements of society, including companies such as BRI Insurance.
He continued that the company is also distributing Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) assistance in the form of disaster response food packages to communities affected by flash floods in Jorong Kayu Aro, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra.
Budi noted that this assistance is a form of BRI Insurance’s commitment to continue playing a role in sustainable economic development, while simultaneously providing tangible benefits to the community and the environment amidst disaster conditions.
“We hope that with the provision of this aid, the people affected by the disaster can rise and restart their lives,” said Budi.
Through this TJSL programme, BRI Insurance reaffirms its commitment to not only performing its business functions but also to providing social contributions to the community and the environment, particularly during disasters and conditions that require collective care.
Meanwhile, the BRI Insurance representative in West Sumatra, Tulus Wibowo, expressed hope that the aid provided could help alleviate the burden on the community in facing post-disaster conditions.
He also hoped that the assistance would benefit the affected people and serve as part of a collective effort to accelerate post-disaster recovery in Solok Regency.
“We are deeply saddened by the flash floods that occurred in Jorong Kayu Aro. This aid is a form of care and commitment from BRI Insurance to stand with the community, especially in difficult conditions like the present. We hope the assistance we provide can slightly ease the needs of the affected community,” said Tulus.
