BRI Insurance Boosts Financial Literacy and Digitalisation for Community Education Centres in Banten
PT BRI Asuransi Indonesia, or BRI Insurance, has held insurance literacy and financial inclusion education as part of a training programme on strengthening financial governance, financial independence, and sustainability for Community Learning Centres (PKBM) in Banten Province.
Through the Financial Management System and digitalisation of educational business units, a representative from BRI Insurance’s Development & Operational Business Division, Eka Indria Sari, said the activity is part of efforts to improve and strengthen insurance literacy and financial inclusion education.
“Primarily in managing finances, while developing the potential of business units in a more structured and sustainable manner,” Eka said in a statement on Friday, 14 August 2026.
The training highlighted the importance of financial governance as one of the foundations for building the independence and sustainability of community education institutions.
According to her, good financial management is not only related to orderly administration and record-keeping, but also plays a role in supporting planning, decision-making, and optimising the resources owned by the institution.
In line with the evolving needs of organisational management in the digital era, the training also introduced the use of a Financial Management System (FMS) and the digitalisation of educational business units.
“The implementation of this system is expected to help PKBMs build a financial management process that is more systematic, efficient, and easy to monitor, while supporting the development of business units as a potential source of institutional income,” she said.
In addition, Eka explained that the digitalisation of educational business units also provides opportunities for PKBMs to optimise their potential in accordance with the needs of the community in their surroundings.
With well-directed management, business units can be developed not only as supporting activities, but also as part of efforts to strengthen financial independence and the operational sustainability of the institution.
“The presence of BRI Insurance is part of the company’s involvement in supporting the strengthening of community capacity through education, development of management capabilities, and the use of technology,” she said.
Similarly, BRI Insurance President Director Budi Legowo said that risks can occur anytime and anywhere, and may have an impact on us or the assets we own.
“Therefore, BRI Insurance is committed to continuously intensifying insurance literacy and financial inclusion for the future of the community,” he said.
