BRI Insurance Accelerates Insurance Literacy Among Makassar Community

Jakarta — BRI Insurance continues to actively undertake various initiatives to improve literacy and financial inclusion in insurance by engaging with the public. The effort is carried out through an educational event held on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at the Ibis Hotel, Makassar. BRI Insurance aims to provide support through education on the importance of protection so that the public can carry out various activities safely from a range of risks. This insurance literacy and financial inclusion activity is the result of a collaboration between BRI Insurance and PNM as part of efforts to increase public knowledge about insurance. Sugiarto, Deputy Head of PNM Makassar Branch, expressed his appreciation to BRI Insurance for providing education to the public, especially PNM customers in Makassar. “Hopefully, with this insurance literacy and inclusion education from BRI Insurance, all the women present can feel the long-term benefits,” Sugiarto said in a statement on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. The collaboration is expected to provide an understanding of insurance literacy and financial inclusion to enhance public confidence in choosing financial services products, particularly insurance protection as a means to strengthen the community’s economic resilience to risks while supporting the development of the insurance industry. At the same location, Asniar Asnawi, Branch Manager of BRI Insurance Makassar, said that owning insurance can help safeguard people’s financial planning. “By having insurance, our financial planning will not be disrupted, enabling a better quality of life, continued protection, and comfort in daily activities, especially in protecting the businesses of all the women,” Asniar said. Through this activity, it is hoped that public awareness of the importance of having insurance will continue to rise. In addition, the public is expected to understand the importance of financial protection and be able to choose insurance products that suit daily needs as well as needs to protect businesses.
