PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has disbursed Rp65.95 trillion in Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) loans, reaching approximately 1.3 million borrowers across Indonesia from January to April 2026.

Micro Banking Director Akhmad Purwakajaya stated the bank continues to strengthen its contribution to the government’s Astacita II programme, which aims for national self-sufficiency in food production. He added that 66.47% of KUR disbursements are directed towards production sectors including agriculture, fisheries, and processing industries.

Agriculture was the largest contributor, with Rp27.95 trillion disbursed, accounting for 42.38% of total KUR loans. In terms of recipients, the loans reached 558,000 farmers and 23,000 fishermen in the first four months of 2026.

This achievement not only highlights agriculture’s dominant role in BRI’s KUR portfolio but also reinforces the bank’s role in supporting national food security.

As quoted by Antara on 28 May 2026, Akhmad said KUR is a financing instrument supporting micro and productive sectors. BRI has expanded access to capital through KUR, which has not only created jobs but also boosted productivity and economic circulation across regions.

In implementation, Akhmad added that BRI adheres to prudence, transparency, and accountability. This is crucial as KUR funds are sourced entirely from public deposits, requiring maintained credit quality.

Furthermore, BRI’s KUR disbursements aim to help businesses expand with improved capital access. This is evident as 307,000 borrowers (31.96% of the 962,000 target) have upgraded their business scale and capacity.

KUR coverage among households has also consistently risen. By April 2026, 19 out of every 100 households accessed BRI’s KUR facilities, up from 18 in 2025 and 17 in 2024.
