BRI Directors Personally Oversee Construction of 3 Logistics Posts and 1 Public Kitchen in NTT
BRI, through its Environmental and Social Responsibility activities, is continuing efforts to accelerate post-disaster recovery following the earthquake that struck several areas in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. After distributing emergency relief, BRI, as part of Danantara, has built three logistics posts in three main affected areas: West Manggarai, Ngada, and Nagekeo. In addition to the logistics posts, BRI has also established a public kitchen in Nagekeo.
The three logistics posts consist of the BRI Peduli Labuan Bajo-West Manggarai main logistics post located in Batu Cermin, Komodo District; the BRI Peduli Bajawa logistics post located on Jalan TW Mengeruda, Ngedukelu, Bajawa, Ngada Regency; and the BRI Peduli Mbay post in Nagekeo Regency, located on Jalan TW 17, Pulau, Danga, Aesesa District.
As part of efforts to ensure optimal post-disaster handling, BRI Operations Director Hakim Putratama and BRI Micro Director Akhmad Purwakajaya visited the earthquake-affected areas in NTT directly. The visit was conducted to ensure the readiness of the logistics posts and public kitchen, the aid distribution process, and the fulfilment of affected communities’ needs could proceed quickly and accurately.
BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said the presence of the three logistics posts and one public kitchen is part of BRI’s efforts to bring assistance closer to communities while ensuring the disaster relief distribution process can run more quickly, in a directed manner, and in line with the needs of residents on the ground. The posts also serve as collection, management, and distribution points for aid before it is delivered to affected communities in surrounding areas.
“The BRI Peduli logistics posts and public kitchen are a form of BRI’s commitment to continue being present with the community, especially in situations that require care and support such as in NTT. Going forward, we may add more logistics posts and public kitchens depending on conditions and needs,” said Dhanny.
With the logistics posts and public kitchen in place, aid is expected to reach communities in need more easily, particularly those facing limitations due to the disaster’s impact. The presence of the posts also helps strengthen aid distribution coordination so that support can be received more effectively during the emergency response period and throughout the recovery process.
