BRI contributes Rp19.1 trillion in first three months of 2026
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRI) recorded total consolidated payments to the state of Rp19.1 trillion in the first three months of this year, or the first quarter of 2026. The amount consists of Rp8.1 trillion in taxes and Rp11.0 trillion in current year dividends. BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that the strength of BRI’s contribution to the state reflects the company’s strategic position in supporting the overall fiscal structure and national economic development. The company noted that consistency in contributions is also reflected in achievements over the past three years. In 2023, BRI paid deposits of Rp50.5 trillion, comprising Rp27.3 trillion in taxes and Rp23.2 trillion in current year dividends. In 2024, BRI’s deposits rose to Rp57.6 trillion, consisting of Rp31.9 trillion in taxes and Rp25.7 trillion in current year dividends. In 2025, BRI again contributed to the state through deposits of Rp55.8 trillion, comprising Rp28.1 trillion in taxes and Rp27.7 trillion in current year dividends. These deposits cover various components of obligations to the state, including Income Tax (PPh), Value Added Tax (PPN), Stamp Duty, Corporate Income Tax, and Regional Taxes. Hery also stated that tax payments are part of BRI’s tangible contribution to supporting state revenue and national development. This is in line with the direction of the SOE Regulatory Body (BP BUMN) and Danantara Indonesia in encouraging sustainable value creation for the state. “We believe that compliance with tax obligations is not only a form of corporate responsibility, but also part of a direct contribution to the nation’s progress,” said Hery. Coinciding with the commemoration of National Tax Day every 14 July, the company affirmed its consistency in contributing to state revenue. Under the supervision of Danantara, BRI is recorded as one of the largest taxpayers from the financial industry in Indonesia. According to the company, this contribution is a tangible manifestation of BRI’s commitment to creating sustainable economic value for the state. “This Tax Day momentum serves as a reminder that BRI’s value creation must be reflected in real contributions to the state. Together with Danantara Indonesia, BRI will continue to accelerate quality growth so that the resulting economic benefits can be further optimised through state tax revenue,” said Hery.
