BRI Channels CSR for Cultural Preservation in Trenggalek Following DPR Initiative

Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Trenggalek Branch has allocated Rp400 million in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds following an initiative by DPR member Novita Hardini.

The CSR initiative supports efforts to preserve local customs and culture in Trenggalek Regency.

In a written statement, Novita Hardini said the CSR funds were specifically allocated to the Dongko District Cultural Promoter Institution for the construction of physical facilities, including a gateway and fence for the Cultural Field in Krajan, Dongko District.

Novita expressed appreciation for the commitment of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in supporting cultural infrastructure in the region, particularly in Trenggalek, which is rich in local wisdom.

‘The Dongko Cultural Field is not merely an open space but the epicentre of creativity and the guardian of Trenggalek’s traditional flame. Building the gateway and fence is a crucial first step to provide a more representative, secure, and proud面貌 for artists and the wider community,’ Novita said recently.

A PDI Perjuangan cadre, she also stressed that investment in the cultural sector has far-reaching impacts, including on the creative economy and local tourism.

Novita added that synergy between the legislature, banking industry (BUMN), and local communities is key to accelerating regional development.

She said CSR programmes targeting vital sectors that reach grassroots levels, including the preservation of national cultural identity, must be continuously promoted.

‘We hope the new look of Dongko Cultural Field will sustain the enthusiasm of young people in Dongko and surrounding areas to preserve Javanese culture. It will also attract tourists and boost the economy for local small and medium enterprises (UMKM),’ Novita stated.
