BRI Boosts Indonesian Economy, 3.8 Million MSMEs Receive KUR Loans

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has reaffirmed its commitment to driving the acceleration of national economic growth through various priority financing programmes, ranging from the People’s Business Credit (KUR), subsidised home loans, to the distribution of non-cash social assistance.

BRI’s Director, Hery Gunardi, stated that amidst economic dynamics and a slowdown in credit demand, the company continues to play a strategic role as an intermediary, particularly in the MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) segment and the productive sector.

Throughout January to December 2025, BRI has disbursed KUR loans amounting to Rp178.78 trillion to approximately 3.8 million borrowers. The agricultural sector is the largest contributor, with financing of Rp80.09 trillion, or 44.97% of the total KUR loans disbursed.

“To encourage the acceleration of Indonesia’s economic growth, BRI is taking on a strategic role,” said Hery during a financial performance press conference for 2025, Thursday (26/2/2026).

The large proportion of the agricultural sector underscores BRI’s position as a bank with strong exposure to the real sector, particularly food and agribusiness, which is the backbone of domestic economic resilience.

The disbursement of KUR loans also strengthens BRI’s role as a backbone for national MSME financing.

Not only in the productive sector, BRI is also actively supporting the housing sector through the FLPP (Housing Finance Liquidity Facility) scheme.

As of the end of 2025, BRI has disbursed subsidised home loans amounting to Rp16.6 trillion to more than 18,000 beneficiaries.

For 2026, the company is optimistic that it can disburse FLPP financing for up to 60,000 housing units.

BRI is also involved in strengthening village cooperatives, including the Red and White Village Cooperative programme, and continues to be a distributor of various non-cash social assistance, including basic necessities.
