Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has been recorded as the largest distributor of the National Housing Program Credit (KPP) nationwide, with realisations reaching Rp9.21 trillion, equivalent to 54.6 per cent of the total national realisation.

This achievement was announced during a meeting between the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Maruarar Sirait, and the President Director of BRI, Hery Gunardi, at the BRI Head Office in Jakarta on Monday (25/5). The meeting discussed strengthening synergies in public housing finance, including support for the Housing Microcredit Programme (KUR Perumahan) and subsidised housing for low-income communities.

Nationally, the realisation of KPP up to 25 May 2026 reached Rp16.86 trillion. Of this amount, supply-side financing totalled Rp4.87 trillion for 1,875 debtors, while demand-side financing reached Rp11.99 trillion for 78,001 debtors. BRI’s KPP realisation was recorded at Rp9.21 trillion, consisting of Rp1.10 trillion in supply-side financing for 752 debtors and Rp8.10 trillion in demand-side financing for 6lar 65,576 debtors.

Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait stated that BRI’s position as the largest national distributor demonstrates the bank’s significant role in supporting housing finance programmes and driving the community economy through the housing sector.

“BRI has increased its quota from the original Rp8 trillion this year to Rp12 trillion. This is because the initial Rp8 trillion has been fully absorbed. We have now reached Rp9.21 trillion. In fact, since April or early May 2026, BRI has exceeded the initial Rp8 trillion ceiling. Therefore, thank you; BRI’s performance is extraordinary,” said Maruarar.

In response to the high demand for financing, BRI continues to expand the socialisation of the KPP programme across various regions. These efforts include Sorong, Southwest Papua, with 610 debtors worth Rp258.9 billion; Tangerang, Banten, with 255 debtors worth Rp202.4 billion; Majalengka, West Java, with 499 debtors worth Rp151.98 billion; and Pontianak, West Kalimantan, with 130 debtors worth Rp59.23 billion.

BRI also continues to strengthen support for the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) programme for subsidised housing. Throughout 2025, BRI successfully realised 32,206 units, reaching 97.5 per cent of its 33,000-unit target. For 2026, BRI’s FLPP target has increased to 60,000 units, representing an 81.8 per cent growth compared to the previous year’s target. As of 25 May 2026, BRI’s FLPP contract realisations have reached 12,500 units.

During the same occasion, BRI President Director Hery Gunardi emphasised that the company’s widespread network in Indonesia supports equitable access to housing finance for the public across various regions.

“BRI possesses an extensive network throughout Indonesia, with over 7,500 service points consisting of branch offices and work units. Through this network, the programme can be implemented evenly in line with BRI’s service distribution. The public and customers can access this programme through BRI’s branch network spread across Indonesia,” said Hery.

BRI is also prepared to support the housing finance schemes being promoted by the government, including options for longer financing tenures of up to 40 years. This step is expected to create lighter and more affordable instalments for the community, while maintaining the principles of prudential banking and measured risk management, consistent with BRI’s commitment to expanding access to decent and affordable housing across all regions of Indonesia.
