PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is accelerating its BRIvolution Reignite transformation as a foundation to strengthen the company’s competitiveness while creating greater value for the national economy. As part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, BRI ensures that every step of the transformation not only generates healthy and sustainable business growth but also expands its contribution to the people’s economy through financing productive sectors and supporting various government priority programmes.

BRI President Director Hery Gunardi stated that BRIvolution Reignite is an integrated transformation framework that serves as the company’s reference for strengthening business fundamentals, enhancing competitiveness, and creating sustainable benefits for the state, society, shareholders, and all stakeholders. “BRIvolution Reignite is designed to ensure that BRI can grow healthier, more efficient, and more competitive, while consistently playing its role as a bank that supports the people’s economy. This transformation is part of BRI’s commitment to creating greater value creation in line with the strategic direction of Danantara Indonesia,” Hery said in an official statement on Thursday (30/7/2026).

The transformation rests on two main pillars supported by six enablers as drivers of change throughout the organisation. The Transform the Funding Franchise pillar is directed at strengthening BRI’s funding structure to be more efficient, stable, and based on low-cost funds by strengthening CASA and improving transaction banking capabilities. Meanwhile, the Revamp Existing Core and Build New Core pillar focuses on strengthening micro-lending (the core business) while building a consumer banking growth engine (a new source of growth) capable of meeting customer needs and industry dynamics.

The implementation of the transformation is reflected in the company’s strengthening performance. As of the first quarter of 2026, BRI Group’s total assets grew 7.2% year-on-year to Rp2,250 trillion, while lending and financing increased 13.7% to Rp1,562 trillion. During the same period, the company’s consolidated net profit was recorded at Rp15.5 trillion. On the funding side, third-party funds reached Rp1,555.1 trillion, growing 9.4% year-on-year, which helped drive down the cost of funds from 2.98% in the first quarter of 2025 to 2.33% in the first quarter of 2026.

This stronger fundamental provides important capital for BRI to expand its intermediary function and increase its contribution to the national development agenda. One such contribution is realised through the distribution of Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR). As of the end of June 2026, BRI had channelled Rp103.81 trillion in KUR to 2 million MSMEs across Indonesia. The distribution was dominated by productive sectors directly linked to community economic activities, with the agricultural sector reaching 869,285 debtors, or 42.68% of total KUR recipients, followed by the trade sector with 647,440 debtors, or 32.34%.

In addition to being the main driver of national KUR distribution, BRI also plays a strategic role in supporting the government’s 3 Million Houses Programme. As of June 2026, BRI’s subsidised mortgage distribution reached Rp18.39 trillion to more than 134,000 debtors. Approximately 97% of this financing was channelled through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility scheme, which has reached around 131,000 debtors. As of June 2026, the distribution of FLPP for the year had reached 19,031 units, or about 32.8% of the 60,000-unit target. On the supply side, as of 19 July 2026, the realisation of Housing Programme Credit distribution reached Rp10.7 trillion, or approximately 89% of the 2026 target of Rp12 trillion. This financing reaches business actors in the housing supply sector as well as the public as home buyers, thereby expected to strengthen the housing ecosystem and create a multiplier effect on economic activity and employment.

Hery emphasised that the BRIvolution Reignite transformation is not only directed at strengthening the company’s performance but also ensuring that every growth achieved can have a real impact on society and the national economy. “With the support of all BRI personnel, public trust, and synergy with Danantara Indonesia, BRI is optimistic that it can maintain healthy and sustainable performance while strengthening its role as a driver of the people’s economy,” Hery concluded.

In a separate occasion, Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria emphasised that the transformation of state-owned enterprises is not only aimed at improving current company performance but also at building a foundation for long-term sustainability in line with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto. Although the transformation has driven performance improvements in several state-owned enterprises, Dony stressed that this success must be supported by sustainable human resource development. According to him, strong leadership is the key to ensuring that companies continue to grow and are able to face future challenges. “What differentiates a CEO from a manager is his commitment to the sustainability of a company,” Dony said.
