The management of Brentford FC has officially expressed its full confidence in their head coach, Keith Andrews. The Irish coach has officially signed a long-term contract extension that will keep him at Gtech Community Stadium until 2032.
This bold decision was made after Andrews was deemed successful in leading the team, nicknamed The Bees, to perform impressively throughout the 2025/2026 season.
Under his leadership, Brentford is currently in seventh place in the Premier League standings with 40 points. This consistent performance opens up great opportunities for the club to secure a ticket to European competition next season.
Andrews was appointed as head coach in June 2025 to fill the position left by Thomas Frank, who moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
Although he initially faced difficulties at the beginning of his tenure, the 45-year-old coach gradually managed to find the right formula for the game.
“I am very proud,” said Andrews, quoted from the club’s official website. “It feels like everything is happening so fast, a lot has happened, but I am very proud to receive real trust from Matthew Benham, Phil Giles, Lee Dykes, and Ben Ryan.”
Andrews’ track record at Brentford actually began as a set-piece coach in July 2024 after leaving Chris Wilder’s coaching staff at Sheffield United.
His experience as an assistant manager to Stephen Kenny at the Republic of Ireland national team (2020–2023) and at MK Dons became valuable assets in his transformation as the main manager.
In the next six years, Andrews affirmed his ambition to build Brentford’s identity as a team that is not only competitive but also has strong character on the field.
“Everyone knows that I am very lucky to be the head coach of this great club, so being able to do it for many years to come will be very enjoyable,” said the former Premier League player.
He added that his main focus is on team collectivity.
“I want us to be a team that entertains our fans, and a team that we can be proud of in the way they carry out their daily activities. I want us to be a team that is difficult to beat and, basically, we are. But I also want us to be a team that enjoys playing football and enjoys being a team, not just individuals,” he said.
Currently, Brentford has a record of 12 wins, four draws, and 11 losses.
In addition to the competition in the league, Andrews is also maintaining The Bees’ hopes in other domestic competitions. They are scheduled to host West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup on March 10.
In the near future, Keith Andrews’ consistency will be tested when Brentford visits Burnley at Turf Moor on the 28th week of the Premier League, Saturday (February 28) at 10:00 PM WIB. (Ant/Z-1)
