Brentford Extends Keith Andrews' Contract Until 2032
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Brentford has officially extended the contract of their manager, Keith Andrews, until 2032, after the Irish coach led the team, nicknamed The Bees, to an impressive season.
Under Andrews’ guidance, Brentford currently sits in seventh place in the Premier League standings with 40 points, with hopes of securing a ticket to compete in European competitions next season.
In addition to their impressive performance in the league, Andrews also led Brentford to remain in the FA Cup, where they will play in the fifth round against West Ham United on March 10.
“I am very proud,” said Andrews, quoted on Brentford’s official website, Friday.
“It feels like everything is happening so fast, a lot has happened, but I am very proud to have the real trust of Matthew Benham, Phil Giles, Lee Dykes, and Ben Ryan,” he added.
Andrews was appointed as Brentford’s head coach in June 2025 after Thomas Frank moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
He initially joined the club as a set-piece coach in July 2024, leaving Sheffield United, where he was part of the coaching staff under Chris Wilder.
“Everyone knows I am very lucky to be the head coach of this great club, so being able to do it for many years to come will be very enjoyable,” said the 45-year-old coach.
When asked about what he wants to build in the next six years, he said he wants to make Brentford a team that is difficult to beat.
“I want us to be a team that entertains our fans, and a team that we can be proud of in the way they carry out their daily activities,” he said.
“I want us to be a team that is difficult to beat and, basically, we are. But I also want us to be a team that enjoys playing football and enjoys being a team, not just individuals,” he added.
After a difficult start to the season, Brentford has slowly found the form they desired under Andrews’ guidance.
They are now in seventh place with 40 points, the result of 12 wins, four draws, and 11 losses. This week, they will play an away match in the 28th week of the Premier League against Burnley at Turf Moor, Saturday (February 28) at 22:00 WIB.
