Brent crude oil price falls below 84 US dollars

Global oil prices fell more than 2 percent in trading on Tuesday, with the benchmark Brent crude oil price plunging below 84 US dollars per barrel for the first time since mid-July. According to trading data, the price of Brent crude oil for October delivery fell 2.34 percent from the previous close to 83.86 US dollars per barrel. This is the first time the global oil benchmark has slumped below the 84 US dollar level since 17 July. Meanwhile, the price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil for September delivery was also recorded weakening 2.28 percent to 80.73 US dollars per barrel. Previously, the price of Brent oil for September delivery had surged 6.38 percent to 100.07 US dollars per barrel in trading on 23 July, while the price of WTI oil for September delivery rose 5.36 percent to 91.48 US dollars per barrel.
