Brebes Residents Shocked by Discovery of Body in Suitcase at Vacant House
Residents of Sukareja Village, Banjarharjo District, Brebes, were shocked by the discovery of a body inside a suitcase at a vacant house. The body was first found by a person who had come to clean the property.
Sukareja Village Secretary Rohandi said the body in the suitcase was first discovered by a relative of the homeowner on Monday afternoon (16 February). The relative had entered the house to clean it.
The homeowner has not been living in the property as they are currently working abroad. During the owner's absence, relatives have been routinely cleaning the house.
"The homeowner is currently overseas. But there is another relative who has occasionally slept at the house," the Village Secretary told detikJateng on Monday (16 February).
Banjarharjo Police Chief AKP Ahmad Su'udi confirmed the discovery of the body in the suitcase. The case remains under further investigation.
"That is correct — there was a body found in a suitcase. At present, we are still conducting further investigations. The body has been taken to Brebes Regional General Hospital," the Police Chief said when asked for confirmation.
