Brebes Regency Government and Polres Brebes, Central Java, collaborated to plant corn seedlings simultaneously as part of the Polri’s commitment to supporting the national food self-sufficiency programme, a pillar of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita. The planting took place at Wangandalem Village’s rice fields, Brebes District, on Saturday afternoon, 7 March 2026. The event began with symbolic planting alongside Forkopimda and related agencies, including Wakapolres Brebes, the Vice Regent of Brebes, Wurja, representative from Kodim 0713/Brebes, members of the Regional House of Representatives, the District Court, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the Head of Agriculture and Food Security Brebes, and representatives from BPS and Bulog. The planting marked the start of the Quarter I Simultaneous Planting programme in Brebes. After the field activity, all participants followed guidance from Mabes Polri via Zoom Meeting to reinforce the national commitment to food security. Wakapolres Brebes, Kompol Purbo Adjar Waskito, emphasised the importance of active participation from all elements of society to sustain achievements of food self-sufficiency. ‘Utilising productive land with priority for corn planting aims to cover one million hectares over five years. The Food Security Task Force of the Police moves in step with the President’s Asta Cita programme to ensure food availability across Indonesia,’ Purbo said. He noted the programme is fully supported by the state through provision of agricultural machinery and high-quality seeds from the Ministry of Agriculture. ‘In Brebes Regency, the programme is implemented through close collaboration between police personnel, farmer groups, and the local government,’ he added. Vice Regent Wurja welcomed the collaboration between the Brebes Regency Government and Brebes Police in the simultaneous planting of corn seedlings. ‘Collaboration between the police, the government, and farmers is the key to strengthening sustainable food security in the region,’ he said, hoping to not only improve statistical corn production figures but also deliver real economic benefits for Brebes’ farming communities. (H-3) Kemenimipas and KKP signed strategic cooperation to strengthen national food security. Chair of the Provincial Posyandu, Fathul Jannah, expressed gratitude for the cooperation of all parties, especially local governments and relevant SKPD heads. General Chairman of Garuda Asta Cita Nusantara, M Burhanuddin, said the emergence of Merah Putih Cooperatives would mark a revival of cooperatives in Indonesia and stimulate the village economy. Akhmad Ma’ruf Maulana was officially elected Chairman of the Indonesian Industrial Estate Association (HKI) for 2025-2029.
