Brebes Police Patrol Toll Road Areas to Prevent Land Fires

To anticipate forest and land fires, the Samapta Unit of the Brebes Police, Central Java Regional Police, conducted a preventive patrol in rice field areas along the edge of the toll road. The patrol was carried out on Monday afternoon. The patrol activity took place from 15.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB, involving four Samapta Unit personnel led by the Turjawali Unit Head. Prior to the patrol, all personnel received a briefing and underwent vehicle and support equipment checks. The patrol focused on vacant land and post-harvest rice field areas along the toll road that are prone to straw burning or land fires. In addition to monitoring, personnel also engaged in dialogue with farmers and urged them not to burn straw carelessly. From the patrol results, officers did not find any land-burning activities along the patrol route. However, officers did find remnants of post-harvest straw burning, which warrants continued monitoring. Through this activity, the Brebes Police Samapta Unit is committed to increasing preventive patrols as an effort to maintain a safe and conducive public order situation and to prevent land fires that could endanger the community or users of the Brebes Barat Toll Road. The Brebes Police also appealed to all residents, especially farmers, not to clear land by burning and to immediately report any potential fires to the police or relevant agencies for prompt handling. The Head of the Brebes Police Samapta Unit, AKP Nur Mahmud, representing the Brebes Police Chief, stated that this patrol is a preventive measure to anticipate potential forest and land fires, particularly in post-harvest rice field areas that are susceptible to straw burning. He added that the Samapta Unit will continue to increase patrols in fire-prone locations and strengthen coordination with relevant agencies to ensure rapid response if hotspots are detected.
