Brebes hit by flood

SEMARANG: More than 170 houses in seven villages near the town
of Brebes were swamped by floods on Wednesday after incessant
overnight rain.

The disaster occurred when the Tengguli Tanggul River, which
divides the Tanjung and Paguyangan districts, burst its banks.

Two primary schools were also affected.

Brebes Regency Chief Syamsuddin Sagiman appealed to the people
affected by the floods to persevere and pray.

His administration has set up a team to handle the crisis.
