Hundreds of Hajj pilgrims from Brebes Regency, Central Java, in SOC 8, SOC 9, and SOC 10 groups have begun moving from their hotel to Arafat Plain on Monday (25 May 2026). This movement marks the start of the peak phase of the 1447 Hijriah Hajj rituals. The pilgrims departed from Sector 1 of Al Kholafa Al Fedy Hotel in Mecca. Brebes Regional Hajj Officer (PHD) Azmi Asmuni Majid reported that all departure processes are proceeding on schedule to meet the timing for Wuquf. ‘The Brebes Regency Hajj group from SOC 8, 9, and 10 comprises 258 pilgrims, including six officials. We are expected to arrive in Arafah by late afternoon,’ said Azmi Asmuni directly from Mecca on Monday (25 May). According to the Islamic calendar, all pilgrims will perform Wuquf at Arafat Plain on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, coinciding with 9 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447H. Wuquf is the most essential pillar of Hajj, forming the core of all rituals in the Holy Land. While at Arafah, pilgrims will focus on rituals including Wuquf, prayer, and supplication. ‘Wuquf, prayer, and supplication are the essence of Hajj. We hope all pilgrims remain healthy throughout their stay at Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina,’ added Azmi. After overnighting at Arafah, pilgrims will proceed to Muzdalifah for overnight stay and to collect pebbles. On 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, they will move to Mina to perform the stoning of the Jamarat at Aqabah. Officials are providing intensive support, particularly for elderly pilgrims, to ensure all Hajj rites are completed smoothly amid the millions of pilgrims from around the world.
