Breakthrough in South Korean National's Bloody Murder Case in Bekasi

A case involving a South Korean national found dead in his home in Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency, West Java, is showing signs of progress. The victim, identified as S (66), is suspected to have been murdered.

The victim was first discovered on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, in the afternoon. His daughter found him in a bloodied state.

Police have conducted a crime scene investigation to probe the murder case. Several witnesses have been questioned to clarify the incident.

Police have detained a suspect in the murder. Intensive interrogations are underway to determine the motive.

The victim was murdered. Bekasi Metropolitan Police Chief Senior Commissioner Sumarni stated that the investigation is ongoing, with several witnesses already questioned. “The case is under investigation. We have processed the crime scene, questioned witnesses, and are searching for other evidence,” Sumarni said when questioned.

Sumarni said the South Korean national’s death is suspected to be a murder, with the sequence of events yet to be determined. “It is suspected to be a murder. Insha’Allah, there will be a press conference on Tuesday to provide details,” he added.

Found by Daughter

The victim’s body was found on Wednesday (27/5) afternoon. His daughter discovered him lifeless. “The sequence of events occurred yesterday afternoon at 3pm WIB when he was found by his daughter. He was already deceased,” said Tambun Selatan Police Station Chief Commissioner Wuryanti when contacted by journalists on Thursday (28/5).

The victim was found alone at home. His corpse was bloodied upon discovery. “Yes, he was found alone at home. Yes, he was bloodied,” she added.

Victim Suffered Violence

Wuryanti said the victim’s body is currently undergoing autopsy, with injuries from both sharp and blunt objects noted. “The findings will be concluded during the investigation. The exact cause of death will be determined later. However, clear signs of violent trauma were found on the victim’s body,” she explained.

Suspect Detained

Police swiftly investigated the murder of a South Korean national, SS (66), found dead at his home in Tambun, Bekasi Regency. Authorities have detained a suspect. “Correct. The suspect is still being interrogated,” said Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), Senior Commissioner, in a statement on Friday (29/5).
