This strengthening did not last long, and the rupiah instead reversed direction, breaching the important psychological level. This rupiah weakening occurred even as the US dollar index (DXY) was declining. This condition shows that the rupiah failed to take advantage of the US dollar correction momentum to strengthen, indicating that pressure on the domestic currency remains quite significant.
