Breaking! One-Way System on Puncak Route to Jakarta in Effect This Afternoon

A traffic engineering scheme has been reintroduced on the Puncak route in Bogor, West Java, on Monday afternoon. Police are enforcing a one-way system from Puncak to Jakarta. Citing a detikcom report, vehicles with four or more wheels are not permitted to head to Puncak and are being diverted, while two-wheeled vehicles can still pass through on the road shoulder. Vehicles with four or more wheels coming from the Ciawi direction are being redirected to the Jagorawi Toll Road. A number of combined personnel are seen managing traffic around the location. Traffic flow from Puncak towards Jakarta is monitored as busy but smooth. Vehicles are still able to proceed freely at the Gadog Intersection. Meanwhile, some four-wheeled vehicles are waiting until the one-way period ends and the route to Puncak is reopened, parking on the roadside. Earlier this morning, police first implemented a one-way system from Jakarta towards Puncak. Bogor Police Traffic Unit Chief Iptu Afif Widhi Ananto stated that there has been an increase in vehicle volume on H+2 of Eid compared to yesterday. “On this third day of Eid al-Fitr, there has been an increase in traffic flow for drivers wishing to holiday on the Puncak route. Compared to the second day yesterday, the increase in vehicle flow per hour at 08:00 WIB is around 1,000 vehicles,” said Afif. The increase amounts to 35 percent in vehicle volume compared to yesterday. Up to 08:00 WIB, approximately 7,000 vehicles passed towards Puncak via the Jagorawi Toll Road. “Up to now, until 08:00 WIB this morning, there have already been 7,000 vehicles passing from the Ciawi Toll Gate towards Puncak,” Afif added.
