Breaking News: Yemeni Missiles Attack Israel

Yemeni missiles reportedly attacked Israel on Monday (8/6/2026). The missiles are believed to have been launched by the Houthi group, which supports Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

“The Israeli military stated that it is working to intercept missiles launched from Yemen,” AFP reported. “Houthi rebels in Yemen, who joined the Middle East war in March to support Iran, have previously launched attacks against Israel.”

On Telegram, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also wrote that they had identified the launch of missiles from Yemen towards Israeli territory, noting that air defence systems were operating to intercept the threat.

Previously, on Sunday local time, Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israeli territory. Reports of this Iranian missile attack emerged after the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, issued a harsh statement accusing the United States (US) and Israel of undermining the peace commitments previously agreed upon by both parties.

Quoting CNBC International, Ghalibaf stated via a post on the social media platform X that the US naval blockade and violations of agreements regarding Lebanon were the reasons for the collapse of the agreed ceasefire. The Iranian Parliament Speaker also issued a warning regarding the status of foreign military assets in the Middle East due to ongoing military activities in Lebanon and the continuous naval blockade by the US fleet.

“Military activities in Lebanon and the ongoing US blockade make American bases and assets, as well as regimes in the region, legitimate targets,” Ghalibaf stated, according to a translation of his post on X.

Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported attacks occurring within the country in the early hours of Monday local time, noting explosions in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan. Subsequently, the Israeli military stated that its air force had struck targets in western and central Iran, with the Israel Defense Forces confirming the statement via Telegram.
