Breaking News: Missiles and Drones Attack Kuwait

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Kuwait’s air defence successfully intercepted a missile and drone attack. The incident occurred on Monday, 1 June 2026.

The Arab state stated that its defence system repelled the enemy assault, with Kuwait accusing Iran of responsibility for the attack.

The military said in an X post, as reported by AFP: ‘The General Staff of the Army wishes to inform that every explosion heard is the result of the air defence system intercepting this enemy attack.’

‘Fully hold Iran accountable for this heinous attack,’ added the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, state news agency KUNA reported that air raid sirens sounded across the country. The attacks occurred despite a ceasefire between the United States and Iran.

Iran has yet to confirm involvement. The Gulf state is a US ally.
