Breaking News! JCI Rises 1% Approaching 6,600 Level
The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) advanced 1% at the start of the second trading session on Tuesday (1/9/2026). The index’s strength was supported by a surge in several banking stocks, particularly within the large-cap bank group.
Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) at approximately 13:52 WIB, the IHSG strengthened by 65.07 points or 1% to the level of 6,590.55. The index moved within a range of 6,535.80 to 6,592.74 throughout the trading session.
The strengthening of the IHSG was primarily supported by banking stocks. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) was the largest contributor, with its share price rising by more than 2.5%.
This was followed by PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) which rose 2.1%, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) by 1.5%, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) which increased by 0.52%.
The movement of these major bank stocks made the financial sector one of the primary pillars supporting the IHSG. This strengthening occurred as investors closely monitored various domestic and global sentiments at the beginning of September.
In the previous trading session, the IHSG closed slightly up by 0.11% at the 6,525.48 level. With today’s gains, the index is once again moving closer to the 6,600 level.
Transaction activity was also observed to be high. As of approximately 13:52 WIB, the value of stock transactions reached Rp11.68 trillion, with a volume of 30.42 billion shares and a frequency of 1.72 million times.
A total of 398 stocks strengthened, 244 stocks weakened, while 321 other stocks remained stagnant.
The surge in banking stocks also occurred after foreign investors recorded net purchases in several large banks during the previous trading session. On Monday (31/8/2026), BBRI was the largest stock for foreign net buying, reaching Rp371.3 billion, followed by BBNI at Rp103.9 billion, BBCA at Rp78.9 billion, and BMRI at Rp39.2 billion.
Foreign buying activity in BBRI continued into the first session today. BBRI recorded a net buy of Rp405.96 billion, the highest among other stocks that also recorded net buying.
