Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded price developments experiencing inflation in March 2026 at a rate of 0.41% on a monthly basis. Meanwhile, on a calendar year basis, inflation was recorded at 0.94%.
This inflation figure is lower than the February 2026 inflation, which was 0.68% on a monthly basis, while the calendar year inflation at that time was recorded at 0.53%.
βIn March 2026, inflation occurred at 0.41%,β said Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at BPS, Ateng Hartono, during a press conference at the BPS head office in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
The realisation of the March 2026 inflation figure is not far different from the market consensus gathered by CNBC Indonesia from 12 institutions.
Financial market players estimated that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March 2026 would experience inflation of 0.60% on a monthly basis (month-to-month/mtm) with a median annual inflation of 3.68% (year-on-year/yoy).
Meanwhile, core inflation in March 2026 is estimated to be at the level of 2.65% yoy.
For the record, in February 2026, Indonesia experienced inflation of 0.68% (mtm), while on an annual basis, inflation was recorded at 4.76% (yoy) and core inflation reached 2.63% (yoy).
