Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - At its meeting on 16-17 March 2026, the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to maintain the BI Rate at 4.75%.
Additionally, the Deposit Facility rate remained at 3.75%, and the Lending Facility rate was held at 5.50%. This marks the sixth consecutive month during which BI has maintained its benchmark interest rate.
The decision was announced by BI Governor Perry Warjiyo in the release of the March 2026 Board of Governors meeting results on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
“This decision reinforces rupiah stability from the impact of deteriorating global conditions due to conflict and achieves the 2026-2027 inflation target whilst promoting economic growth,” said Perry.
Perry also affirmed that BI is optimising monetary policy instruments for external resilience and implementing measures for stability. Meanwhile, payment system policy has been directed to support economic activity through the expansion of digital payments and improvements to payment system infrastructure.
