ISTANBUL — The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) coordinating committee said three flights carrying humanitarian-mission participants have arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey, in the late afternoon local time. ‘We are relieved to report that flights TK6925, TK6921 and TK6919 have landed in Istanbul,’ the statement from the family and relatives communications team for the GSF said. They added that accompanying teams are monitoring the arrival process and ensuring continued support for the participants after their arrival in Turkey. Earlier, the three Turkish Airlines flights carrying Global Sumud Flotilla participants were reported to have left the occupied Palestinian territories on Thursday (21 May 2026) at 15:30 Palestinian time. The three aircraft are currently en route to Istanbul Airport, Turkey. In an official update provided by the Family and Friends Communications Team of the GSF participants, the flights in question are TK6925, TK6921 and TK6919. This departure forms part of the deportation process of several humanitarian flotilla participants who were previously abducted by Israeli authorities after the solidarity mission to Gaza was forcibly halted. To date, families and escort teams continue to monitor the condition of the participants during the repatriation process. The Turkish government has sent charter flights to Israel to repatriate the Global Sumud activists who were abducted, after Israel’s National Security Minister provoked international outrage. Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, stated that they will bring Turkish citizens and participants from third countries to Turkey, with media reports suggesting 78 Turkish nationals among the detainees. Meanwhile, Spain will also deport 44 Spanish activists via Turkey. Israel is reported to have released hundreds of activists who sought to breach the Gaza sea blockade and are in the process of deporting them. However, one flotilla participant, Zohar Regev, an Israeli citizen, remains in court proceedings on charges deemed unfounded by the legal advocacy group.
