Breaking: Iran Retaliates Against US Bombardment, Drone Hits Bahrain
Iran retaliated against United States (US) airstrikes launched on Tuesday evening local time, or Wednesday (10/6/2026). Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said they attacked an American base in Bahrain following strikes against the Islamic republic.
‘The war-mongering US regime attacked several points in Jask, Sirik, and Qeshm this morning under false pretexts, damaging a telecommunications mast in Sirik and destroying two water tanks in the city,’ the IRGC said in a statement carried by Iranian media, as reported by AFP.
‘In response to the enemy’s brutal actions, IRGC naval fighter aircraft launched a drone attack against the 5th Fleet in Bahrain at 02:30 (local time),’ it added.
‘There will be a harsher response if the attacks continue.’
Earlier, the US stated it had carried out ‘proportional strikes’ against Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache attack helicopter. The strikes were ordered by US President Donald Trump.
‘American forces began conducting self-defence strikes against Iran at 17.00 ET today at the direction of the Commander-in-Chief, in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter yesterday,’ US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X.
‘This mission is a proportional response to Iran’s unjustifiable aggression,’ it added.
