Breaking! Iran Reiterates It Will Not Negotiate with the US
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Iran’s Supreme National Security Council head Ali Larijani has reaffirmed that his country will not negotiate with the United States (US).
This was expressed through a post on X to rebut a Wall Street Journal report cited by Al Jazeera, which claimed that Larijani’s initiative to continue talks with Washington had been proposed through an intermediary from the Sultanate of Oman.
“We will not negotiate with the United States,” he wrote on Monday (2 March 2026).
Larijani wrote that Trump had plunged the region into chaos with his “delusional fantasies” and now feared more American military casualties.
“Through his delusional actions, he has transformed the slogan ‘America First’ that he created himself into ‘Israel First’ and sacrificed American troops for Israel’s power-hungry ambitions,” he said.
According to him, Trump had burdened his own character assassination costs on American soldiers and families.
“Currently, the Iranian nation is defending itself. The Iranian armed forces did not initiate that aggression,” he asserted.
Previously, Trump urged Iranians to rise up and overthrow the Islamic Republic one day after a combined US-Israeli attack. It should be noted that this strike killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several senior officials and figures, including former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
“I call upon all Iranian patriots who yearn for freedom to seize this moment to be brave, bold, heroic, and reclaim your country. America is with you,” Trump said in a video address.
He also warned Iran’s security forces to surrender or be killed. This came after the US military stated it had destroyed the headquarters of the elite Revolutionary Guards.
“I once again urge Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, military and police to lay down your weapons and accept full immunity or face certain death,” he said.
“That will be certain death. It will not be pleasant,” Trump added in the video.
