The IHSG at the opening session jumped 185 points or 2.45% to 7,762.33. A total of 485 shares rose, 63 fell and 107 were unchanged. Total turnover at the start of trading reached Rp1.51 trillion, involving 2.76 billion shares across 137,557 transactions. BUMI, BIPI, ENRG and BBCA shares were the most active today. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 started the day with a rise of 0.38%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 4%, after a 3% drop in the previous session. Hong Kong Hang Seng index futures were at 25,534, higher than the last close at 25,249.48. All eyes were also on China’s major policy meeting known as the “Two Sessions,” which began on Wednesday. Last night in the U.S., stocks rose, extending momentum seen at the close of the previous session, as oil prices cooled following developments in the US-Israel war in Iran and easing concerns about U.S. growth. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 238.14 points, or 0.49%, to close at 48,739.41, snapping a three-day losing streak. The S&P 500 gained 0.78% to finish at 6,869.50, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.29% to 22,807.48. Technology stocks supported the broad market, particularly chip shares. Micron Technology and Advanced Micro Devices each rose more than 5%. Broadcom and Nvidia rose more than 1% each.
