BREAKING: Former Defence Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu Passes Away

Sad news has emerged from Indonesia’s military and government circles. Retired General Ryamizard Ryacudu passed away on Sunday, 31 May 2026, at 14:03 WIB in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) of RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital in Jakarta, according to military sources. He had been receiving treatment for illness. The late general’s body is currently being prepared for transfer to the family home, with the family discussing further arrangements for the funeral and burial. Ryamizard Ryacudu was a senior military figure who served as Defence Minister from 2014 to 2019 and previously held the position of Army Chief of Staff (KSAD).
