Breaking: Attorney General Raids Ombudsman Office Over Cooking Oil Corruption

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesia’s Attorney General (Kejagung) conducted a raid on the office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia located on Jalan HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta. The search was conducted in relation to an alleged bribery case involving the dismissal of a cooking oil (migor) supply matter, which is suspected to involve a former Ombudsman commissioner.

“Yes, that is correct,” said Anang Supriatna, Head of the Attorney General’s Public Communications Division, when asked for confirmation by CNBC Indonesia on Monday (9 March 2026).

Anang did not disclose the full name of the Ombudsman commissioner involved, but indicated the person’s initials as YH. The raid was conducted concerning a recommendation issued by the Ombudsman regarding cooking oil shortages several years earlier.

“The suspected corruption offence involves obstruction of investigation and prosecution of the cooking oil matter,” Anang stated.
