Break-in at home of photographer

JAKARTA (JP): Burglars stole cameras and electronic goods valued at Rp 25 million (US$10,416) from the home of a photographer early Saturday morning in South Jakarta.

A police sergeant at the South Jakarta police precinct said the thieves entered by breaking a window in the film production house of Didi Mardianto on Jl. Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama.

Did arrived home at about 4 a.m. and found several cameras, a 29-inch television and laser disc player missing. He reported the theft to the nearby Kebayoran Lama Police subprecinct.

Police believe the thieves used an automobile to transport the goods and were aware the house was unoccupied.

A gang specializing in break-ins at empty homes was recently arrested. (jun)
