JAKARTA — The actions of several motorcyclists who breached the Casablanca Elevated Non-Toll Road (JLNT) in Tebet, South Jakarta, potentially contain criminal elements.

This is because the motorcyclists allegedly damaged portal locks to traverse the road, which is closed at night.

Metro Jaya Police Traffic Director Kombes Komarudin stated that police have forwarded the case file to the General Criminal Investigation Directorate for further handling.

As a follow-up to the case, police confiscated several motorcycles that had been modified and were allegedly used in the portal breaching action. Vehicle owners were asked to present vehicle ownership documents in order to retrieve the confiscated motorcycles.

“There are still several who have not surrendered and cannot show the vehicle’s identity documents,” Komarudin said.

Previously, actions by a group of youths joined in the “Young Night Style” community went viral on social media after breaching the JLNT Casablanca portal. In videos that circulated, one motorcyclist was seen recording a colleague cutting the portal lock strap using a lighter. After the portal opened, several other motorcyclists immediately traversed the elevated road, which is typically closed at night.

A total of 11 people have been secured for questioning. Police also confiscated 11 motorcycles that had been modified. “Eleven motorcycles from dozens of motorcycles in the video have already been secured by us,” said Kasubdit Gakkum Ditlantas Metro Jaya Police AKBP Ojo Ruslani when contacted on Monday (23 February 2026).

Based on initial statements from the motorcyclists, the action was carried out to showcase their motorcycle modifications.
