BRCT: Protect the TNI and Polri from "interference" by state destroyers

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Barisan Rakyat Cinta TNI (BRCT) has called for the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (TNI) and the Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia (Polri) to be saved and protected from “interference” by state destroyers.

BRCT Presidium Ihsanudin Idi stated that the TNI, including the Polri, serves as the primary and frontline force in safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation and state.

“We reject all forms of systematic efforts to weaken the TNI or Polri, as this directly impacts national stability,” Ihsanudin said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, there is currently a proliferation of efforts to weaken the TNI through various narratives and methods. Therefore, BRCT held an action in front of the Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK) building in Jakarta on Wednesday to voice support for the TNI institution and rejection of various weakening efforts against state institutions.

Ihsanudin also expressed attention to the role of the MK in upholding the constitution, reminding it to remain consistent in carrying out its duties and functions.

“We encourage the MK to adhere firmly to the constitution and not open room for legal interpretations that harm the interests of the nation,” he said.

He opined that the balance between the supremacy of law and state stability must be maintained, so that judicial decisions do not become entry points for weakening state apparatus.

“Build good communication so that in the field we can address existing problems well together, because in the future, the existing dynamics will undoubtedly continue to occur,” he said in his address at the Technical Working Meeting Roll Call of the Polri Korbrimob at the Polri Brimob Headquarters in Depok on Tuesday (21/4).
