Brazil Warns US Not to Interfere in October Election

Colombia (ANTARA) - Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will use the upcoming United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York as an opportunity to directly warn US President Donald Trump not to interfere in Brazil’s Presidential Election in October 2026.

Speaking before thousands of supporters during a campaign rally in Ceilandia on Thursday (17/9), Lula levelled sharp criticism against foreign influence and his opponent, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who is alleged to have close ties to the White House.

“On Sunday at 10 am, I will board a plane to attend the UN meeting to speak with Trump and tell him: do not interfere in the Brazilian election,” Lula added, asserting that his country is not anyone’s colony.
