Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) continues to strengthen the quality of its human resources through the implementation of Human Resource Management (HRM) Work Competency Certification as a form of measurable and professionally recognised competency enhancement.

“Enthusiasm for this programme is very high, reflected by 300 applicants who underwent the selection process and 100 selected participants proceeding to the certification stage,” said the Director of Business Development, Human Capital & Legal of PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), Purnomo, in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

This commitment is realised through the provision of HRM Work Competency Certification, which offers free access to certification for 100 participants via the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme.

The programme is not only intended for Brantas Abipraya personnel but also opens opportunities for university students and Brantas Abipraya partners to enhance their competencies in the field of Human Resource Management. Consequently, the programme is expected to expand the benefits of competency development while encouraging the creation of an increasingly high-quality human resource ecosystem.

Purnomo stated that competency certification is not merely an effort to obtain formal recognition, but is part of the company’s investment in building Human Capital quality.

“We want to ensure that this competency development opportunity is given to participants who are ready and have the commitment to continue learning. Therefore, this activity is not just about obtaining a certificate, but is part of Brantas Abipraya’s investment in building competent Human Capital capable of meeting industry challenges,” said Purnomo.

Technological changes, digitalisation, developments in labour regulations, and increasing demands for corporate governance make competency a vital factor in facing industrial shifts.

“In the midst of very rapid change, experience alone is not enough. We must ensure that such experience is supported by measurable competence, continuously updated knowledge, and the ability to adapt to change,” he added.

This HRM certification equips participants with competencies relevant to human resource management, including manpower planning, job analysis, SOP preparation, remuneration, wage administration, social security, industrial relations, as well as human resource learning and development.

Purnomo emphasised that this competency strengthening aligns with the transformation of the Human Capital role, which is no longer limited to administrative functions but has evolved into a strategic partner. This role ensures the readiness of resources, competence, organisation, and systems in supporting the company’s strategic direction.

“When a company wants to grow, we must ensure that the talent we possess is ready to grow and transform. When a company faces new challenges, we must have individuals with the competence to address those challenges,” he concluded.
