Brantas Abipraya completes construction of Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur
PT Brantas Abypraya (Persero), a state-owned enterprise operating in the construction sector, has completed the construction and development of the Indonesian School Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) facilities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
SIKL has begun active use as an educational centre for the children of Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Malaysia.
“For Brantas Abipraya, the construction of SIKL is more than just completing a construction project. Behind every classroom and facility we build, there is a hope that Indonesian children in Malaysia can obtain a proper, comfortable learning space that supports them in developing and achieving their aspirations,” said Brantas Abipraya Corporate Secretary Dian Sovana in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The SIKL construction project has a total building area of approximately 5,600 square metres, with the tallest building reaching four storeys and one basement. Construction commenced in May 2025 and was completed in May 2026.
As part of the development of Indonesian educational facilities abroad, SIKL is equipped with various amenities to support learning activities, character development, and student social and sporting activities.
These facilities include classrooms ranging from kindergarten to high school, laboratories, staff rooms, committee and administrative rooms, a food hall, a hall, a sports hall, a prayer room (musholla), and basement parking.
The construction of these facilities was carried out by Brantas Abipraya as part of a government infrastructure assignment, with the Ministry of Public Works, through the Directorate of Strategic Infrastructure, acting as the employer.
Meanwhile, SIKL is the facility user operating under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur. With increasingly adequate facilities, SIKL is targeted to accommodate up to 800 students, thereby expanding educational access for Indonesian citizens living or working in Malaysia.
“We are proud to take part in providing Indonesian educational facilities in Kuala Lumpur. We hope this building can provide long-term benefits for students, teachers, and Indonesian families, while serving as part of a collective effort to build a superior, characterised, and globally-minded Indonesian generation,” added Dian.
