Brantas Abipraya Completes 238 Temporary Shelters for Flood Victims in Aceh
State-owned construction company PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has completed the construction of 238 temporary shelters (huntara) for communities affected by flooding in Aceh Province. The development comprises 92 units in Aceh Tamiang Regency and 146 units in Pidie Regency, forming part of an accelerated post-disaster recovery effort.
The construction in Aceh Tamiang was one of the sites reviewed by the House of Representatives’ Commission VI during a working visit to Aceh on Tuesday, 22 July 2026. The inspection aimed to evaluate the readiness of facilities, building quality, and the execution of the project involving the state-owned enterprise.
Brantas Abipraya’s Director of Operations I, Muhammad Toha Fauzi, stated that the shelter construction represents the company’s support for accelerating the handling of disaster-affected communities. “Brantas Abipraya supports every strategic government programme, both in accelerating infrastructure development and in disaster management. By providing temporary shelters for flood-affected residents and participating in connectivity infrastructure development, we can improve the community’s quality of life while encouraging sustainable regional economic growth,” Toha said on Thursday, 23 July 2026.
According to Toha, the shelter construction in Aceh is the result of collaboration between Danantara Indonesia, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, local government, and state-owned construction firms to expedite post-disaster recovery. He noted the project was carried out with a focus on quality assurance and timely completion.
In addition to building 92 units in Aceh Tamiang, Brantas Abipraya has also completed 146 temporary shelter units in Pidie Regency. Toha affirmed the company will continue to support infrastructure development oriented towards community needs, including disaster management infrastructure, and will maintain collaboration with various stakeholders. “We believe that every work we produce must deliver long-term benefits for the community and be part of the effort to advance Indonesia’s infrastructure towards inclusive and sustainable development,” he said.
