Brantas Abipraya: Banjarbaru People’s School Project On Track
State-owned construction enterprise PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has confirmed that the Banjarbaru People’s School project is on track to meet government targets. Company Secretary Dian Sovana stated that the firm is committed to professional project governance, including ensuring contractors fulfil their obligations towards workers. “Brantas Abipraya consistently ensures timely payments to supervisors and workers, with no delays that could affect worker welfare and project operations,” Dian said in a statement on Thursday in Jakarta. She emphasised that the company has no policy of withholding or delaying worker wages. She added that all payment obligations are addressed in line with contractual terms and agreed cooperation mechanisms. Dian explained the company has already fulfilled payment obligations as per the contract. She noted the company would expedite resolution if administrative issues caused delays in wage payments. “We are also evaluating and reinforcing all contractor commitments to ensure project implementation adheres to good governance principles,” she said. The company stated that intensive coordination and on-site resolution have restored normal and conducive project operations. A project worker noted Brantas Abipraya’s responsiveness in coordination, allowing work to resume smoothly. A foreman echoed this, stating on-site coordination is effective and project progress remains steady. The People’s School programme is a government initiative to expand education access for poor and extremely poor communities listed in deciles 1 and 2 of the National Social and Economic Data Single Database (DTSEN). The government aims to complete 93 People’s Schools by June 2026 as part of a broader target to build 500 permanent schools by 2029. The Banjarbaru People’s School is designed as an integrated boarding facility, featuring primary, junior, and senior secondary education facilities, teacher housing, student dormitories, a mosque, multipurpose hall, canteen, and sports infrastructure. “Brantas Abipraya is committed to fulfilling all contractual obligations and ensuring the Banjarbaru People’s School project remains on schedule as per government targets,” Dian said.
