Branded Bras and Used Imported Underwear Snapped Up at Pasar Senen
The centre for second-hand clothing sales in Jakarta has begun to fill with buyers, particularly for underwear such as panties, bras, and boxers. Many customers are flocking to second-hand underwear shops because the prices are very cheap and branded items are within reach.
Although traders did not specify the brands, CNBC Indonesia has learned some of the brands sold second-hand at Pasar Senen. On inspection, there are several well-known bra brands, including Victoria Secret, Valentine Secret, and Lycra.
However, traders did not disclose the brands in detail, but they said the second-hand bras sold originate from South Korea and Japan.
One seller, Mamang, said the bras they sell mostly come from South Korea.
“Most of the second-hand items here are from South Korea,” Mamang told CNBC Indonesia on Thursday (5/3/2026).
The traders claim that although the items are second-hand, the bras they sell offer advantages in terms of quality and variety. Underwear such as bras and panties from world-renowned brands is also sold at Pasar Senen, at affordable prices, at only Rp35,000 each.
“If they are well-known, we sell them for Rp35,000 per item; if they were new they’d be above Rp100,000,” Mamang added.
In agreement with Mamang, Yadi, another seller of second-hand bras, said the bras originate from South Korea. The brands are not different.
“Yes, here most are from South Korea, import second-hand from there,” Yadi said.
He sells second-hand bras with renowned brands because that is an effective strategy to attract customers.
“Usually, the brands that are reasonably good, we display them at the top; if the brands are less, we place them at the front,” he added.
