Brake Failure on Slope: Bus Crashes into Wall and Workshop in Bogor

A bus was involved in a single-vehicle traffic accident on Jalan Raya Babakan, Babakan Madang district, Bogor, West Java. It crashed into a wall and a workshop.

“According to accounts from witnesses at the scene, the bus was believed to have been parked,” said Ipda Ares Rahman, head of the Bogor Police Traffic Accident Enforcement Unit, on Saturday (24 October 2026).

The incident occurred at around 11.30am. Ares said the road where the bus had been parked slopes downhill.

“It is suspected that the braking system malfunctioned and the vehicle rolled downhill,” he said.

The vehicle then struck several structures, causing damage. No one was killed or injured in the incident.

“The bus hit a wall and then the roof of a workshop, resulting in a single-vehicle traffic accident. The material losses are estimated at around Rp25 million,” he concluded.
