BPTD Lampung ensures availability of street lighting and road markings on mudik routes

Bandarlampung — The Lampung Class II Land Transportation Management Authority (BPTD) has ensured the availability of street lighting and road markings on mudik routes under its jurisdiction.

“Street lighting and road markings, particularly on national roads, fall under our responsibility,” said Jonter Sitohang, Head of the Lampung Class II BPTD, in Bandarlampung on Monday.

He confirmed that lighting and road markings are available across the four main routes that will be used by homecomers during the Lebaran holiday period.

“We have communicated our lighting requirements, and our personnel have been conducting field inspections for some time now, particularly on the routes that will be used by mudik travellers, to ensure the availability of road facilities such as markings and street lighting,” he said.

He explained that the four routes receiving attention for road infrastructure and lighting are the Trans Sumatra Toll Road, the Central Route, the Eastern Route, and the Western Route.

“Every year we have a planned schedule for installing and maintaining road markings and lighting, as there are always requests for new installations or upgrades. However, we have sometimes faced budget constraints regarding the procurement of these items,” he stated.

To ensure the smooth operation of the 2026 Lebaran Transport Programme, drone monitoring facilities have also been deployed at Bakauheni Ferry Port, the Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Concrete Dock, and the rest area at the 20-kilometre mark to monitor traffic conditions.

“We will conduct ongoing monitoring of field conditions, and our hope is that the 2026 Lebaran Transport Programme, both during the outbound and return journey periods, will run smoothly, safely and comfortably,” he added.
