JAKARTA (JP): The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) will set
up a Business Information Center later this year to support the
activities of Indonesian companies, said the bureau's chief,
Sugito.

He said yesterday that the planned center will provide
essential information and data on export opportunities,
Indonesian imports, investment opportunities and demographic data
about export-target countries.

The planned center will have access to various international
business centers, including the Global Communication System
Internet.

"We are at the final stage of preparation for the center's
establishment but we are now waiting for further guidelines from
Coordinating Minister for Industry and Trade Hartarto before
starting its operation," Sugito was quoted by Antara as saying.
