BPS Urges Honest Responses for 2026 Economic Census
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has stated that public honesty in providing information about economic activities will determine the success of the 2026 Economic Census. The public is therefore urged to be truthful when census officers arrive to collect data. “The success of the 2026 Economic Census is the responsibility of all elements of society and depends heavily on the honesty of the public in providing information about the economic activities they undertake,” said BPS RI Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti in Bandarlampung on Saturday (27/6/2026). She added that the success of the Economic Census is also measured by ensuring no businesses or households are missed during data collection by officers. “Everything must be recorded without exception. Let us together ensure that not a single business is overlooked, because every economic activity, no matter how small, holds significant meaning for our economy, the economy of Lampung, and the Indonesian economy,” she said. She also expressed appreciation and encouragement to the 2026 Economic Census officers who will be serving throughout the Lampung region. A total of 8,619 census officers will be deployed to conduct data collection in 15 districts and cities across Lampung Province. “Field officers are the frontline of the 2026 Economic Census’ success. Therefore, we call on all officers to carry out this mandate with full responsibility, integrity, and dedication,” she said. She expressed hope that the 2026 Economic Census will produce accurate, complete, and high-quality data as a basis for formulating economic development policies, as well as a foundation for strengthening regional competitiveness and improving public welfare. “Through collaboration between the public, government, and all census officers, the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census is expected to present a complete portrait of Lampung’s economic conditions, which will become an important foundation for Indonesia’s future economic development,” she said.
